Olivia Munn models Kim Kardashian’s nipple bra in new Skims campaign after breast cancer journey
Olivia Munn is stripping down for a good cause.
The “Newsroom” actress, 44, stars in the latest ad campaign for Kim Kardashian’s Skims, modeling a selection of brand bestsellers — including Skims’ viral push-up bra with built-in nipples.
In the photos, Munn strikes poses in the Ultimate Nipple Bra ($64) as well as the Ultimate Teardrop Push-Up Bra ($60), showing off a scar from her double mastectomy and breast reconstruction in one shot where her chest is bare.
“It’s an honor to partner with Skims and Susan G. Komen on this incredible campaign. This cause is deeply personal to me, and I’m proud to help drive awareness and conversation around it”, Munn said in a press release from Skims, which is donating 10% of bra sales between Oct. 23 and 31st to the charity.
“Skims’ commitment to empowerment and community aligns perfectly with the message of this campaign, which is all about confidence, comfort, and feeling your best self. That’s exactly how I felt shooting this,” she added.
On Instagram, where she shared her photoshoot, Munn wrote, “In the middle of this latest @Skims bra campaign shoot, I decided I was done being insecure about my mastectomy scars. Every mark life has left behind on my body is proof of how hard I fought. I hope other women who have been self-conscious about their scars see this photo and feel all the love I’m sending.”
Munn bravely shared her battle with breast cancer earlier this year, revealing that she had undergone treatment and several subsequent operations after being diagnosed in April 2023.
Shortly after, she got candid about trying to hide her “battle wounds” on the red carpet before the public became aware of what she was dealing with privately.
“I have some divots and dents on one side of my body near where the lymph nodes were, and they had to really dig out,” she said in an interview at the time. “And I’ve been wearing some dresses on the red carpet that made me a little stressed out at times.”
In a later podcast appearance, she also talked about seeing her body for the first time after the double mastectomy, before she had her permanent implants.
“I was by myself in my bathroom, and I looked at them, and I cried in a way that I don’t think I’ve ever cried in my life,” she said. “I cried. I was devastated. I didn’t recognize myself.”
“I didn’t want to have big breasts,” Munn said of the replacement implants, which had to be larger because the doctors took out so much tissue.
“You think, ‘I’m here.’ All I care about is that I’m alive and I’m here for my baby. But putting that to the side, one day people will forget or not know, or maybe I’ll never tell people that I had cancer, but they’ll look at me and go, ‘Oh, what a bad boob job. Oh, look at her.’”
Before her treatment, which included a hysterectomy, the star froze embryos with now-husband John Mulaney, with whom she shares son Malcolm. The couple welcomed a daughter, Méi, last month via surrogate.
