Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, reveals they talked about marriage ‘a few weeks’ before singer’s death
Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has revealed that she and the late One Direction member planned to spend their lives together just weeks before he tragically died.
“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together,” the influencer, 25, shared on Instagram Wednesday.
“I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/ engaged & together forever 444.'”
In the slideshow, Cassidy shared the handwritten note Payne gave her along with a bouquet of flowers.
The social media star said that despite the “Night Changes” singer’s passing, she knew that they will still be “together forever” but just not “in the way [they] had planned.”
“You’ll always be with me,” she added. “I’ve gained a guardian angel.”
In the vulnerable post, Cassidy also admitted just how “shattered” her heart is over Payne’s death.
“I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark write now,” she wrote to the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer.
“You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone — millions of fans, your family, friends and especially me. You are so incredibly loved.”
Cassidy first spoke out about her loss last week, sharing at the time that “nothing about the past few days [had] felt real” and she was still processing what had occurred.
On Oct. 16, Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from a third-story balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where he was staying as a guest.
The “You & I” singer and his girlfriend had been vacationing in Argentina together for about two weeks, but Cassidy decided to leave the trip early because she didn’t like staying in one place too long.
A friend of the influencer recently told The Post that Payne got into a huge fight with his girlfriend because she got her own plane ticket and booked it out of Buenos Aires.
“Liam didn’t want Kate to leave Argentina,” the pal said. “He wanted her to stay. She says he begged her to stay. … He was really unhappy about that. He made sure she knew that.”
Payne reportedly began spiraling after Cassidy departed, with a source telling local Argentine news outlet La Nación that he partied and drank alcohol with prostitutes in his hotel room hours before he died.
Drugs such as pink cocaine and crack were also found in his system, according to his toxicology report.
Cassidy’s friend told The Post the influencer was “hurt” to hear about the sex workers, in particular.
“She knew nothing about that. She just said she has to wrap her mind around it,” the pal said.
