Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly buy European vacation home after being kicked out of Frogmore Cottage
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly purchased a new European vacation home after King Charles III kicked them out of Frogmore Cottage.
Page Six can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex snagged a property somewhere in Portugal where Harry’s relatives — Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank — also own a getaway estate north of Lisbon. Daily Mail was first to report the news.
The splurge might lead to the “Suits” alum applying for a Golden Visa, allowing the US-born actress to access the 26 Schengen countries in Europe, including Italy, Spain and Greece, without restriction.
Reps for the couple weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Harry, 40, and Markle, 43, purchased the property more than a year after Charles evicted them from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, UK, following his youngest son quitting the royal family in 2020.
At the time, an insider told the US Sun that the 75-year-old king started the eviction process in January 2023, one day before Harry released his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” containing several allegations about his family.
“This eviction surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK,” a source said.
The royals were officially packed and moved out of the cottage in June of that year, and Prince Andrew was allegedly appointed the estate.
Amongst the items they took back to the US with them were reportedly gifts from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Harry and Meghan — who moved to California in 2020 — had stayed at the Windsor property infrequently, though it was their official residence in the UK.

The two currently reside full-time at their Montecito estate with their 5-year-old son, Prince Archie, and 3-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana.
Harry and Meghan, however, seemingly fell in love with Portugal after visiting the country last summer.
They reportedly stayed on the Iberian Peninsula for a three-night romantic getaway.
The parents also traveled south of the country to the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort in Melides.
Harry, meanwhile, might not be visiting his family while abroad as he’s been estranged from them since leaving behind his royal duties.
Harry and his brother, Prince William, reportedly kept their distance from each other when they attended their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral services in Norfolk in August.
