Zach Bryan confirms breakup from girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry with cryptic message
Zach Bryan and his girlfriend, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, have broken up after one year of dating.
The country singer, 28, confirmed the news Tuesday on his Instagram Story, writing that he still has “respect and love” for the Barstool Sports personality, 25, with “every ounce” of his heart.
“She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her,” he told his 4.7 million followers.
In his cryptic message, Bryan shared that he has “had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things,” which he did not specify.
“I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways,” he continued. “I am not perfect and never will be.”
The “Something in the Orange” crooner asked fans to respect his ex’s privacy — “and if you have it in your heart, mine too.”
He concluded his statement, “With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
Soon after, LaPaglia wrote on her Instagram Story that she was “feeling really blindsided” by Bryan’s post and needed to “hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately.”
Reps for the pair did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
However, a source tells us exclusively, “Zach and Bri were crazy about each other, but their relationship was always rocky. His lifestyle is not conducive to a serious relationship.”
Fans began to speculate Monday that the former couple had called it quits after screenshots of Bryan’s profile on celebrity dating app Raya circulated on Reddit and TikTok.
LaPaglia added fuel to the fire by sharing a cryptic poem to her Instagram feed that read in part, “Eventually you’ll find that life goes on / Even if you don’t want it to.”

The musician then briefly deactivated his Instagram account early Tuesday before returning to post the breakup announcement.
Bryan and LaPaglia started dating in July 2023, less than two months after his split from his previous girlfriend of one year, Deb Peifer.
They got a dog named Boston that September and moved into the US Navy veteran’s $7.45 million waterfront home in Duxbury, Mass., earlier this year.
Bryan and the podcaster made their red carpet debut in February at the 2024 Grammys, where he won his first award for his chart-topping duet with Kacey Musgraves, “I Remember Everything.”
But just a few weeks later, a woman named Brooke Almond publicly accused the “Pink Skies” singer of cheating on LaPaglia with her.
The influencer was quick to defend her boyfriend, confirming on her “BFFs” podcast in March that Bryan had hooked up with Almond — but only before the couple got together.
“He’s a f–king rock star. He’s rich and famous,” she said. “You don’t think he’s going to be f–king?”
Bryan was previously married to fellow Navy vet Rose Madden from 2020 to 2021, while LaPaglia dated college football player Nik Pelligrino from 2018 to 2022.
