Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s ex-staffers share differing stories about working with royals: From ‘psycho moments’ to ‘meaningful’ kindness

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ex-staffers have shared differing stories about their experiences working with the royals.

A courtier who worked for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their time in the UK told the Daily Beast that the couple’s “bad moments” have been “amplified” compared to other royals since they quit the royal family in January 2020.

“There have been plenty of difficult royals over the years, and I do think that after the ill-feeling of Megxit, Meghan’s bad moments were amplified and distorted and blown out of proportion,” the aide claimed.

“That said, there definitely were bad, very bad, even psycho moments. I witnessed people being chewed up in person and over the phone and made to feel like s–t,” they added.

“But it was an incredibly fraught time and I’m inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. She has said herself she was suicidal at times.”

Another source told the outlet that a florist was “screamed at down the phone” for 30 minutes after they posted a small detail online about a bouquet they were working on for the mom of two — although they did not mention her by name.

“They vowed never to work with her again, despite the prestige of having her as a client,” the source said.

“If you were working for her, you were often treated like a tradesman who could be treated like s–t.”

A third person who worked with the “Suits” alum, 43, prior to her and Harry’s lavish May 2018 wedding told the Daily Beast, “I always thought she was a classic narcissist and getting her staff to tell a magazine how amazing she is only confirms that in my mind.

“She is lovely when it is all going her way but a demon when the worm turns.”

Despite the negative experiences some former employees had with the Invictus Games founder, 40, and Markle, other ex-workers of the couple claimed the pair are the exact opposite.

Former chief of staff Catherine St-Laurent told Us Weekly she has “remained close” with Harry and Markle since leaving the job.
