Meghan Markle’s BFF makes rare comment about duchess after red-hot dress appearance
Meghan Markle’s BFF, Kelly McKee Zajfen, took to social media to share some insights about her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex after the duo attended the Children’s Hospital LA Gala together.
“I was also beyond grateful to share in this beautiful evening with one of my closest friends,” Zajfen wrote via Instagram over the weekend.
The Alliance of Moms co-founder praised Markle’s support for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, calling her commitment “truly inspiring.”
“I’m so grateful to have you by my side. ❤️🩹,” she added.
Zajfen also expressed her gratitude to the California-based medical center for “the extraordinary care” they have given to her daughter, Lily, who suffers with heart issues.
“Our journey began when she was just two and a half, and from that day forward, we’ve experienced nothing but kindness, hope, care, and unmatched expertise,” she wrote. “Our team at Children’s has given us strength and hope during the most challenging moments and their continued commitment to Lily’s care has made all the difference to our family.”
Kelly shares Lily with her husband, Julian. They also shared Lily’s twin brother, George, who died at the age of 9 due to COVID-19 and viral meningitis, she shared in an essay with People in April.
In the post, the Heart Ambassador included a photo of herself with Markle on the red carpet at the fundraiser event.
Kelly smiled and hugged her close pal, who wore a daring red-hot gown for the surprise appearance.

The besties have been close for years and have often shown up for each other.
The former actress, 43, joined forces with Kelly and their other friend Heather Dorak for a ritzy Utah ski trip in March.
Markle and her former “Suits” co-star Abigail Spencer also attended Kelly’s Alliance of Moms charity event in April.
“When we speak about the people in our lives who lift us up when you need it with undeniable force of pure love I think of these two,” Kelly wrote of Markle and Spencer in an Instagram post at the time, adding, “You inspire me. You pick me up when I need it and you Love Like A Mother! ❤️🩹.”
Last month, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, celebrated the Duke of Sussex’s 40th birthday at the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament in Los Angeles. The event honored Kelly’s late son and benefitted the Alliance for Children’s Rights.
Markle and Harry have immersed themselves in local charity initiatives after resigning from their royal duties in 2020 and moving to Montecito, Calif., where they reside with their two kids: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
