Kourtney Kardashian launches ‘Ozempic-style’ weight loss supplement — but is it effective and safe?
Kourtney Kardashian is hopping on the weight loss trend with the launch of her new Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules.
The “Kardashians” star, 45, announced what are some are already referring to as “Ozempic-style” capsules via the company’s official Instagram on Thursday.
“Introducing Lemme GLP-1 Daily,” the caption of the post read. “A breakthrough innovation in metabolic health, formulated to naturally boost your body’s GLP-1 production, reduce appetite, and promote healthy weight loss.”
Lemme noted in an official press release that many of their customers were seeking a GLP-1 solution “without side effects,” which inspired Kardashian to formulate the plant-based supplement.
“We spent years working with our medical advisory board to formulate Lemme GLP-1 Daily into the most effective and researched GLP-1 supplement on the market,” the reality star explained.
“I’m excited and proud of our cutting-edge formulation that uses both clinically-studied and patented ingredients to increase GLP-1 levels in the body, naturally.”
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists are a part of a class of medications used to “treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity,” according to the National Library of Medicine.
Their primary function is to “lower serum glucose levels and thereby manage metabolism,” per the organization. Ozempic – a diabetes medication popular among celebrities for weight loss benefits – is classified as a GLP-1 agonist.
However, unlike prescription based GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic, Lemme GLP-1 Daily “does not contain synthetic GLP-1 hormone and is not a GLP-1 agonist drug,” a press release from the company clarifies.
Kardashian’s new supplement is a plant-based GLP-1 alternative that includes three plant extracts: Eriomin lemon fruit extract, Supresa saffron extract and Morosil red orange fruit extract.

Weight loss drugs are nothing new in Hollywood, as celebs have endorsed them for years, but is Lemme’s GLP-1 Daily effective?
Lauren Harris-Pincus, MS, RDN, exclusively spoke to Page Six on Friday and shared her expert insight on the efficiency and safeness of Kardashian’s latest wellness product.
“No supplement can come close to mimicking the effects of the GLP-1 agonist medications like Ozempic and Wegovy,” Harris-Pincus, Dietitian Advisor for Ro, told us. “It’s like the difference between an eye dropper and a garden hose.”
The “Everything Easy Pre-Diabetes Cookbook” author also told us that she recommends “supplements that are third party tested and verified” to her clients, as products from companies like Lemme are not regulated by the FDA.
As for whether consumers should be cautious about the Lemme capsules? Harris-Pincus told us, “This supplement probably won’t harm most people, except for their wallets.”
“There are a plethora of supplements claiming to act like a natural Ozempic,” she added, “and it’s unlikely they will result in any real, sustained weight loss.”
In order to see long-term results with overall health, Harris-Pincus emphasized the importance of “permanent diet and lifestyle changes.”
Harris-Pincus explained, for example, that eating fiber rich foods can “stimulate natural GLP-1 and help keep us full.” She also noted that it’s “unlikely” that a supplement will have a “more significant effect” than a high protein and high fiber diet.
Kardashian first launched her Lemme wellness brand in the fall of 2022 with three products: Lemme Matcha, Lemme Chill and Lemme Focus. She has continued to expand her empire with capsules and gummies including Lemme Sleep, Lemme Glow and Lemme Purr.
“After years of struggling to find the right supplements, I embarked on a journey to create science-backed products that you would legitimately look forward to taking everyday,” she explained in a press release at the time.
Customers can begin purchasing Lemme GLP-1 Daily on Sept. 16.
