Elvira calls out Ariana Grande for snubbing her during meet-and-greet after she gave the pop star 20 tickets
Elvira doesn’t have fond memories of meeting Ariana Grande.
When asked about her worst celebrity encounters during a recent Q&A at Knott’s Scary Farm, the Mistress of the Dark, 73, joked that it rhymed with “Pariana Mande.”
After the audience quickly decoded the name, the Queen of Halloween, whose real name is Cassandra Peterson, gave a “brief” rundown of her meeting with the Grammy winner, 31.
“She came [to my show] and she brought 20 guests,” Peterson started. “So she wanted 20 or 21 tickets and we were like, ‘Okay!’ and we gave her the tickets.”
Before the show, Peterson invited Grande and her party backstage and the “we can’t be friends” singer asked if she would “take pictures with all of her friends and relatives” — which she happily obliged.
“So I take a picture with every single one of them,” Peterson recalled. “I sign autographs for every single one of them.”
“And then I say to her, ‘Could we take a photo together?’ and she goes, ‘No, I don’t really do that.'” Peterson said, mimicking a valley girl accent.
To add insult to injury, the actress claimed Grande “took off” before she even took the stage.
“And then she left before my show started but all her relatives stayed,” Peterson said with a laugh.
Tom Vanucci, Elvria’s former show director, chimed in saying, “It’s all true!”
“She’s playing the wrong witch,” the moderator, Jeff Tucker, joked, alluding to Grande’s role as Glinda the “Good Witch” in the upcoming “Wicked” film.
Grande apologized to Elvira Monday, saying she was “disheartened” to see her interpretation of their meeting.
“i actually don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because i had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family,” she wrote in the comments section on Elvira’s Instagram, adding that the event took place seven years ago and at the time she was not “great with being in public crowds or loud places.”
She continued, “if i’m misremembering this moment, i sincerely apologize for offending you so.”
The singer thanked the horror hostess for being “so nice to her mom.”
“she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now but i’ll talk to her… clearly, we all have our days!),” she wrote. “sending love always. ♡ you’ll always be our queen of halloween!”
Reps for the pop star did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Elvira’s Haunted Hills” actress has never been one to shy away from sharing her honest thoughts.
The actress subtly shaded Kylie Jenner in 2022 after the “Kardashians” star dressed up as her iconic character for Halloween — but didn’t give her credit.
“I didn’t get a heads up that Kylie was doing the costume, but she did the costume justice and it was very flattering,” she told TMZ at the time.
“It would have been even more flattering if she tagged me,” she sarcastically added.
Peterson later posted a shady meme comparing her original look to Jenner’s scantily-clad version, captioned, “In a world full of Kardashians be an Elvira.”
She notably did not tag the makeup mogul.
In the comments section, the actress, once again, noted that it “would’ve been nice” to get some recognition from Jenner.
