The engagement is over — but diamonds are forever.
Olivia Nuzzi was seen looking chic at a high-powered women’s gathering in Los Angeles. And spies said she accessorized with a tennis bracelet given to her by her former fiancé, Politico reporter Ryan Lizza, in happier times.
We reported that Nuzzi — who is on leave from New York Magazine following a sexting scandal with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — was at an event last week hosted by fashion line Argent, a fave of celebs including Kristen Bell, Jessica Alba, Meghan Markle and others.
It was the first time she has been seen publicly since the RFK Jr. story broke.
Spies said that Nuzzi accessorized a black suit with the diamond bracelet, which we hear was a gift from Lizza.
A different source told Page Six of Nuzzi at the event: “She got a warm reception in the room. She looked beautiful, and she seems to be holding it together.”
Nuzzi has previously been featured in a campaign for the fashion brand. In 2019 she posted a pic of herself in a black outfit by the brand with the caption: “I’ve worn [Argent] to go get coffee in the morning and to interview the president.”
Guests also included “Fantastic Four” star Kate Mara and “Selma” director Ava DuVernay. (Ironically, Nuzzi once tweeted in 2015 a pic of Mara’s political reporter character in the hit series “House of Cards” with the caption, “Why does Hollywood think female reporters sleep with their sources?”)
Said an insider of Nuzzi at the event: “She seemed kind of OK…. She is mostly laying low and was in a safe place. LA is a place for reinventing yourself.”
The insider added, “She seemed to be coping pretty well.” And, “Despite all the inappropriateness… I know a long list of men who have done the same thing. I find this to be targeting and shaming a woman.”
Nuzzi looked confident and at ease in pics from the event despite being embroiled in the ongoing Kennedy saga.
A PR firm captioned a carousel of pics from the bash: “Several of the world’s problems could probably have been solved in the warm glow of the [République] in Los Angeles Thursday night where filmmaker Ava DuVernay, philanthropist and climate activist Aileen Getty, Shondaland producer Betsy Beers, campaign strategist Beth Lynk, podcaster Monica Padman, journalists Lisa Ling, Jessica Yellin, Olivia Nuzzi and more gathered for the second annual ‘Work Friends’ dinner.”
The star writer, 31, has also been duking it out with Lizza, 50, in Washington, D.C., Superior Court, after she filed for a no-contact order against him and accused Lizza of blackmailing her, which he has denied.
Nuzzi has alleged in court papers that Lizza, “explicitly threatened to make public personal information about me to destroy my life, career, and reputation — a threat he has since carried out.”
Lizza denied the allegations in court papers on Oct. 14, in which he also recalled how he discovered that, “Nuzzi had been cheating on me with a married man [RFK Jr.] for almost a year.”
He said in the court docs, Page Six reported, “She admitted the affair and over the course of weeks of conversations she confided how she fell into what she described as a ‘toxic’ ‘unhealthy’ ‘stupid’ ‘psychotic’ ‘crazy’ ‘indefensible’ relationship with a 70-year-old ‘sex addict’ who told her he wanted to ‘possess,’ ‘control,’ and ‘impregnate’ her.”
He said he broke off their engagement on Aug. 17. The pair got engaged in September 2022.
RFK Jr., 70, has denied he had an affair, and those close to him have implied that he might sue her.
The former presidential candidate was seen publicly with his wife, Cheryl Hines, this week at a Kennedy family memorial service, holding hands.
Nuzzi and the former presidential candidate — who has now endorsed Donald Trump — reportedly did not have a physical relationship, though she allegedly did send “demure,” nudes.
A source told Page Six the pair had “incredible” FaceTime sex, and even said they loved each other.
